We paired the HS33 levers with a modern wide-bar setup and a Thomson stem. The ergonomic 2-finger levers of the Magura system fit perfectly into a modern cockpit, offering comfortable one-finger braking if you’ve got the strength—though the HS33 provides so much power, a light touch is usually all you need.

The beauty of this upgrade is that it requires zero modifications to the frame. By using the existing cantilever/V-brake bosses, we kept the integrity of the retro frame intact while drastically increasing its trail-worthiness.
