The "High Line" Secret: Mastering Berms with the Ecocana
Have you ever approached a high-banked berm and felt that sudden urge to grab the brakes or "dive" into the bottom? You’re not alone. In our latest training session, we broke down the psychology and technique behind railing a perfect berm by following one simple rule: Stay high and let it be.

Here is the breakdown of how to master your corners, as seen in our latest coaching session.

1. The Strategy: Stay on the Berm
Most riders instinctively head for the bottom of a turn because it feels "safer" to be closer to flat ground. However, the strength of a berm is at the top.

As we point out in the video, the goal is to enter the turn high on the banking. This gives you the maximum amount of support and allows the centrifugal force to "stick" your tires to the dirt.



2. The Mental Game: "Let it Be"
The most important coaching cue in this session was: "Maintain the berm and just let it be." When you are high on a berm, your brain might scream at you to brake. But braking mid-turn actually stands the bike up and pushes you off your line. By "letting it be," you allow the bike’s geometry and the trail’s banking to do the work for you.



3. The "BOOM" Factor: Exit Speed
Why do we bother staying high? It’s all about the exit. When you stay on the berm and maintain your momentum, you exit the turn with a "BOOM" of speed—exactly like the pros.

We often compare this to the riding style of Loic Bruni. While other riders might slide or "square off" a turn, Bruni is famous for his surgical precision and ability to carry incredible speed through a corner by choosing the smoothest, most supported line.
